The latest diet is not in fact a diet but rather a lifestyle. This is a healthy change that many of us women need to hear more about. Thus today on the blog I will be explaining the philosophy I go by when it comes to diet and exercise and why diets, in general, are largely counter-productive.
As a women myself, I have grown up hearing the women around me talk about the need to look good, dress well, and try the latest diet. We are constantly exposed to the ‘most attractive’ women as those that are slim and toned and thus something we should aspire to be. However, I think we are all going about it in the wrong way. Instead of looking at our bodies from a place of lack and not being good enough we should look at ourselves from a place of love.
Instead of going on a diet to lose weight, eat healthy fresh produce and limit your intake of processed foods for the LOVE of your body and because you know it is what is best for you. Make it a part of your lifestyle. Be proud of eating this way!
Don’t go to the gym to push yourself to the max, to punish yourself for eating that slice of cake or because you feel you have to go. Do exercise that you enjoy, that you look forward to doing and that makes you feel good mentally. Nobody said going to the gym was the only way to lose weight! Go swimming, walk on hikes out in nature, do yoga, play as part of a team sport, or dance till your heart’s content.
This way you will lose weight naturally, out of love for your body and thus there will be no starvation. As long as you focus on doing things from a place of fulfilment to your body and life, the weight will fall off when it is ready and thus it will feel effortless, as you will not constantly be focusing on your weight but rather focusing on your HEALTH!
What changes will you make for the love and respect your body deserves?
All my love,
