I recently came across the website meetup where you can meet like minded people in your area, whether its meeting up with people starting out on their career path, who need some encouragement, or meeting up with people to walk dogs and talk all things doggie heaven. There’s something for everyone!
As a HSP I am easily aroused by events of large groups of people; I find it challenging to communicate with strangers in those situations. Whereas put me in a coffee shop with 3 complete strangers and a common interest and I could talk for days! I love to talking about things on a deeper level- talking about emotions is my drug haha. On the other hand talking about mundane or non-important things like the next fashion trend or the latest gossip about an old school friend just weighs me down. Who else is like this?
That’s why I love meetup! I’m a member of a few different groups in Galway, my hometown in Ireland, and most of the meet ups are completely free! You should definitely check out the different groups available in your town, on their website!
Over the last few days I have made a conscious decision to push myself, to move even closer towards my dream of career guidance coaching- I want to help people find out what their passions are, what courses are best to move towards their desired career path and counsel them to provide encouragement and support. Basically the support I wish I always had! So… I started my own meet up group called ‘Guiding you to the Career and Life of your Dreams’! And guess what? There are already 20 members on it! Our first meetup called ‘Find your Purpose’ is on this Thursday. We will be discussing how to find our purpose and completing worksheets based on the Ikigai Japanese concept. If this sounds like something you are interested in or if you’d like to meet and chat to me in person sign up!
I am so excited about where this venture will take me! Stay tuned to find out!
Have you been to or started any meet ups? I’d love to know in the comments below!
